****

Melmeasy (2 years ago) The way people reacted to Michael Jackson in the 80s, would've been the way people would've reacted to the Nicholas Brothers during their time. If it wasn't for racism.

****

OneVoice (2 years ago)  The Greatest Dancers EVER!!! No one today could carry their shoes!!!

****

Karen56 (2 years ago)  These guys were the best in the business!!! This is just unbelievable. Thanks for posting it is :)!

Another great clip is The Nicholas Brother Stormy Weather.

****

Melmeasy (2 years ago)  That move at 2:07 is Unbelievable.

****

jordan04n (2 years ago) ...these bros are genuine hoofers..style not matched by anyone...few would even attempt to project such rythum born with theses guys are true hoofers...

Jeepster46 (2 years ago)  Fred Astair and Gene Kelly, did not want to be anywhere near these two greats,it would have destroyed their so called legacy as supposedly the best in the business, Wrong.

****

Much2much41 (2 years ago) Gene Kelly did a movie with the Nicholas Brothers called "The Pirate" in 1948.
****
Hitmanfan91 (2 years ago)  greatest dancers ever, absolute geniuses, not even Fred Astaire, James Brown, Jackie Wilson nor Michael Jackson could pull off the stuff ive seen these two do, i just watched a video where Harold (youngest) runs up a wall, backflips and lands it in the splits, they were ahead of their time

****

Reynaldo44 (2 years ago)  I agreed 100%, i saw both of them runs up a wall and backflips, they do it several times.

****

json1977 (2 years ago)  which one was that? I've been looking on youtube and cannot find that clip or song they danced to where one of them ran up a wall and did a backflip to land in a split. I've seen that one too and seem to remember it being in a color movie in the 40's

****

westtexan84 (2 years ago)  The clip you are looking for has been posted by 'thankuGlennMiller'. The movie is Orchestra Wives. They sing and dance to I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo. Harold is the brother who performs the backflip landing in a split. They are both incredible! However, Fayard is my favorite.

****

ubertuberboy (2 years ago)  Best break dancing ever! I even see the moon walk precursor.

****

xocolatl3409 (1 year ago)  WOW--I've never seen such amazing talent...After I watched the Dorothy Dandridge story, I learned about the Nicholas Brothers and had to look them up.

****

swingprof (1 year ago) Haha, yeah. THE BEST. No less than Gregory Hines said once that the first time he saw the Nicholas Brothers, he felt like the top of his head was going to blow off... =)

First time I saw this I almost cried...
It was a combination of disbelief at their talent and mourning for people who think todays dancers are the best.
The Nicholas Bros, James Brown, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Sammy Davis Jr., and Michael Jackson: True dancers.
The 20's-50's was a time where real talent shined, and I truly believe that the last TRULY talented guy to come onto the sing and dance scene is Michael Jackson. I have yet to see anyone today who radiates talent like these guys.

****

CrazySexyCool34 (1 year ago) I’m young but i agree with everything you said. These guys were the best entertainers ever. And now all we have are dancers who are great but aren't creative and original with their dances. Michael Jackson was the last great dancer and that's a shame now. Hopefully someone will come along soon and bring it back.

****

laffytaffy0720 (1 year ago)  well then you also need to check out Savion Glover.

****

LkOutMtnMan (1 year ago)  Nobody could dance like these brothers! I watched a video here on YouTube where they were very young, amazing at an early age! I remember watching them at grandma's house on Saturday mornings, my parents didn't have a tv until I was older. Ah the talent of the 30's and 40's! What an era in entertainment!

****

GordonFerguson (1 year ago) Absolutely crazy skills at 1:01.

****

chaddavidgill (1 year ago)  I remember hearing a story from the younger brother, Harold. Gene Kelly was such a perfectionist when it came to rehearsal when the three of them worked together in musicals.
Kelly used to get mad at Harold for not wanting to go through the steps time and again. Harold knew them from the start and never forgot. He was a genius. So was his brother, Fayard.
****
paulsroom (1 year ago)  Normally I don't like to say that someone is the best ever, but the Nicholas Brothers really were. There's the Nicholas Brothers and then there's everyone else!

****

kalisteau (1 year ago)  seriously  we are in 2008!!!! they are still unmatched!!!!!!!
****
Muziclvr07 (1 year ago)  My favorite dancers of all time! Long live the Nicholas Brothers! No one will ever top them. RIP Harold and Fayard

Becca3232 (1 year ago) Does anyone know what movie this is from?
That was so great, I fell in love with them when I first saw them dance in Stormy Weather

****

rosacotton (1 year ago)  This is "Down Argentine Way" (1940).

****

ccaammiiittoo (1 year ago)  Did I miss something here?  When I saw this movie some years ago, I was impressed by Harold Nicholas' singing in Spanish while dancing. Where was the singing in this clip? Was I asleep at the wheel?

****

IManOBAMAmama (1 year ago)  That part of this clip was cut out. They both sing at the beginning of this clip.
****
rythmic81 (1 year ago)  jawdroping!!! Absolutley crazy, flawless and amazing!

****

41 (10 months ago)  The greatest ever! Hands down! Nobody,
and I mean NOBODY, can do it, not even
close, the way these two brothers did it.
****
IngridBergmanRocked (9 months ago)  This FANTASTIC DUO was SUBLIME and they made it look SO easy.
Thanks:D

****

hajune (7 months ago) What a treat to be able to meet them. They taught dance at Harvard later in their life. Nobody even close to them today!

****

tabularasa66 (7 months ago)  I got to hang out with the Nicolas Brothers in person in the 90s... while I was working at the Banff TV Festival (who was presenting a documentary about them). After watching the film, I was so moved that I begged the festival to invite them in person to be presented the award. What an honour to meet such talent, such passionate men, and what a travesty that America has no idea about these men who revolutionized dance beyond any of their peers since. Bravo!

****

Bfdidc (7 months ago)  To be honest, I'd never heard of them until recently, but they are truly amazing. You were luck to meet them.

****
tcampbellla (6 months ago) Become a fan of the Nicholas Brothers on FACEBOOK.. They only have about 150 fans now. They deserve a lot more, don't you think?

****

Jigorath (5 months ago) This is from "Down Argentine Way" (1940) and starred another famous pair of legs: Bettye Grable. And, yes. I will become a fan on FB. Many more need know of these amazing performers and their incalculable contribution to dance.
****
frankieheartsful (2 months ago)  They combine the best of Astaire, Kelly and O'Connor.

****

cavaleer (6 days ago)  Back in those days of classic American dance, everyone, I mean everyone was graceful and fluid and poised, even if you couldn't do all the acrobatics that these cats did.

****

frankieheartsful (6 days ago)  I also liked Gregory and Maurice Hines. Excellent at contemporary tap.
****
QWILDER (6 days ago) I have just learned of the Nicholas Brother just a few days ago. I have been watching there video's for the last three days. They where PIONEERS!!
WOW 1:20
Who knew that that move was done 60 years ago?

****

americangalbasseyfan (1 month ago)  Sensational.
