Tangential to the comments about "See See My Playmate:tIn that YouTube viewer comment thread, the video poster and another poster Coyote exchanged comments and the original poster mentioned a Pacific Island children's game played with rocks:

"See See My Playmate" is based on the 1940s song "Playmate" which was written by Saxie Dowell. Visit http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=8560 for a discussion of this song and its (mostly children's composed) parodies.
Also visit Jambalayah's sister website Cocojams http://www.cocojams.com/content/handclap-jump-rope-and-elastics-rhymes to read a number of examples of this rhyme.

danaleeling (10 months ago) Bear in mind I am writing down what the two girls are actually singing, I am not purporting that their version is canonical! :-)

PeaceOnEarth2258 (10 months ago) no such thing as a salador :(
danaleeling (10 months ago) Yes, I realize that there is no such thing as a salador. The two girls in the video are Kosraean, from a small tropical island in the Pacific where there are no cellars let alone cellar doors. For them the word salador is a nonsense word, pronounced just that way, as if one were starting to say "salad." This is their version, unique to their island.
io121w2 (8 months ago) This video brings back so many childhood memories...

coyote907 (4 months ago) I just love this. There is a "remember When" chain going around on Face Book and I posted it with it. I opted for this version instead of a shiny professional one. It is all about love and memories. Thanx
