babiisunshine916 (1 week ago) Its wonderful that his music still has a big impact on the world...I grew up and am still growing up listening to his music for I am only 17...But my iPod consists of mostly Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, And others! Its a shame that not that many young people like myself even know who he is...I mention him and people are like "Who is that?" It really is a shame but keep spreading the word! His music is ingenious!

fcdarkhero (1 week ago) It's a shame when people don't know a thing bout this beautiful music that is Jazz. I am 16 and I live in Chile, and almost everybody is ignorant about real talented musicians like Louis, Ray, Miles, Ella, Billie and many more. And what you say is so true, Keep spreading the word! (:

garrigue2003 (3 days ago) Incredible, maybe ... July 6 1971 I was in the army, in Romania, waiting to finish the 6 month of imposed military service, as a gunny sgt. At noon, al the military school knew Armstrong was gone. All the afternoon program was cancelled, and ALL of us, including troops, officers and the School Commander, were listening for hours, His marvellous music. Surely, incredible ... but unforgettable, too. ****

filiator (10 hours ago) happy new year to everyone... this song is perfect to say that :)
Here's some information about this performance from a video watcher that was posted in the summary statement:* ..." I'm a life-long Louis Armstrong nut so I know when he did everything. There are two books that I get my information about videos from, "All Of Me-The Complete Discography of Louis Armstrong" by Jos Willems & "Louis Armstrong On The Screen" by Dr. Klaus Stratemann. The Louis clip you posted is from the first of two BBC-TV shows. Each show was 45 minutes & they were taped on the same day, July 2, 1968. Aside from Louis the rest of the band is Tyree Glenn-trombone, Joe Muranyi-clarinet, Marty Napoleon-piano, Buddy Catlett-bass & Danny Barcelona-drums. Louis died three years later, on July 6, 1971. He was only on the road full time for another two months after this clip. By mid September of 1968 he was seriously ill in the hospital & was out of commisiion for most of 1969. I hope that's enough information for you. Best wishes, Phil" *I reformatted this comment.
