azizip17-My compliments on the attention to both the visual & sound content of this video. These feathered masking customs are very very similar to the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians. I believe that there are both West African & American Indian sources for these customs. The feathered costumes of the Mummers string bands (Philadelphia, PA) are also very similar although their instruments/music is very different. The Mummers masking tradition is from Europe, though it may be partly adapted from elsewhere.
