Also African tribesmen also kept slaves themselves.
There was much wrong done by many though, no doubt about that.
Sam Cookes voice sets the video off to a tee, what a great loss he was.

while it is very true that inter-tribal slavery existed, it was still very different from the cross-atlantic slave trade and its ramifications. In many cases, slaves could be bought back or work off a debt and return home, but having nver lost or had stripped away their language, basic culture etc. Its the persistant superior race attitude of some whites in US that makes racism here a continuing issue. Not admiting or dealing w/it won't change that. What happend still matters.

This is one of my favorite songs ever, Sam Cooke's voice is legendary, and the way he delivers the lyrics to this song, you know at the moment he was recording this, he was feeling this through out his very soul also, phenominal song, timeless song.
