Video Summary:
From several viewer comments about this video, I learned the following: Mohammed Tawil is a Oromo [ethnic group] singer from Ethiopia. This video was filmed in the early 1980's, and is a "cover" of a Somali song that was originally performed in the 1970s by the Dur Dur band. The lyrics are in the Somali language with some Oromo (Oromiffaa) words mixed in. http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=GVOUDl3UQis
Here's a comment from a blog which confirms some of this information: "Mohammed Tawil is the man! I remember jamming to this song-it was like the national anthem at one point in Ethiopia. He poured his soul and heart in to that song. "Dur Dur" which means tolo tolo beye in Amharigna is a love song in which he tells his love to take off with him. He singing it in somali with some qotu(oromo) words mixed in it. "
