nachise51-"Folks, this is not a "chant", it's a good, old-fashioned round dance song, and round dance songs are usually love songs. Nothing mystical, just good human stuff for social dances.

zdaugherty- Does anyone know the name of this specific chant and the tribe please?

****
HOTINONSHONNI - this guy is pueblo!!!

****
notcomatose - It looks to me to be sung inside the Native American Cultural Center in Albuquerque. They often have local pueblos, etc., perform during the week, and week-ends. Nice place to go if you are a tourist. Great jewelery and pottery, etc., there as well. Thank you. This was really great.

****
JBlakens- Would someone be kind enough to explain the meaning of the face paint he has on to me? I find the design rather interesting and am curious if there are any particular meanings to the markings.

****
batistawwe122- what i was told growing up people said its
a preparation for war

****
willafilla-"This is a nice love song. He is singing about his love for a woman. Very pretty. Nothing spiritual here other than maybe a spiritual connection he or the author of this song had with a love."

****
lisapimpson-"why does he have the face paint of a ghost dancer?? Or do they just paint their faces white for any special occasion??? "

****
willafilla-"This gentleman is probably a Traditional dancer. That would my guess anyway. Ghost dancers of what Tribe? every Tribe has different purposes for color on their faces."

****
pimpette1221- "willafilla the ghost dance is for the sioux i know because im sioux"

****
sxk445- "dont say "SIOUX" thats what our enemy called us...they gave us that name....were Lakotas,Dakotas,Nakotas etc. but u call urself by which tride u r frm. not Sioux"

****
Anarchippie- sounds to me like "oh my love i've gone so far away from you, as i sail along tonight, i am thinking of you, if i dont come back remember that i will always love you."

****
mrhomerbojangles- @Anarchippie That is exactly what he is saying

****
nachise51-Please folks. Take time to learn a little bit about powwow culture. This is not a chant. This is a round dance song, which is a social song. If it were a chant, it would not be done in front of a microphone at a ball park.
