I may just not appreciate3 the way this song is sung cuz im not from that generation but i think he stretches his voice out too much and the red hot chili peppers is much more fast paced and natural... Just my take though, no offense to anyone

johnniewalker23- I can respect that, but what I will disagree with is the generational part. Stevie's music transcends time, it never sounds dated, at least to me. I'm not from that generation either, but I still love the way he sings it.

I also don't get how the Chili peppers are more "natural" Stevie is a innovator so hes setting the foundation for other performer/musicians. Not to mention he did this song first so I just don't see how the RHCP were more natural.

I'm indifferent with the Peppers version kind of. I feel that was at a point where the Peppers weren't that sure who they were yet kinda.

There was more detail to Stevies version and his band always had a lot more going on
than most.

circusjuggler - One of the things that I adore about Soul Music is the fact that nothing sounds fake in this music style. Beautiful and potent voices singing well-written and intelligible lyrics and bands with highly competent instrumentists. And Mr. Wonder is simply one of the best musicians that ever existed indeed.
