KayMilDaCrucial- dang,
this is a great video, and an even better sound. Stanley makes that horn talk.

Barachas0 Stanley Turrentine can have a full 20 minute conversation with you using only his magnificent saxaphone, truly man and instrument were one. Im happy to have been able to see this master play before his passing... Long Live His MUSIC!!!

jazzman76115 - This is probably from 1989 or 1990- since the song "Touching" came out on Stanley's 1989 CD "LaPlace" (and the clothes and hairstyles also give away the date). "Touching" was co-written by keyboardist Bobby Lyle. I saw Stanley live in Rochester, New York in 1993 and I have his autograph from that show proudly framed on my wall. "The Sugar Man" was simply the best, the coolest. I really miss him. [Posted in 2009)

aak030207 - Do you live in Rochester,NY? I do, I had numerous conversations with Stanley in Rochester and Buffalo up until his death. Last spoke with him in 1999 6 months before his death. A great personality and a very humble cat.

berbertaum- that's an amazing sound with a perfect feeling and the way he put the tones just came in the past of the years.... he was fantastic....
****
NreeKelBastardos- I hadn't heard of Stanley until I watched a Michael Brecker video where he mentions Stanley as a major influence.... you can really hear that Stanley was a massive influence on Michael's tone and phrasing.

dgmincy - I could not stop watching and listening to this video. It touched my soul.
Truly, we lost one of the greats.
My only regret is that I did not see him at a live performance.
